Methylated Spirits

Description

Methylated spirits is a common cleaning component comprising industrial denatured ethanol. It is a clear colourless liquid and is mixable with other hydrocarbon solvents and water. It is used as a common cleaning compound on tiles, glass and ceramics as it reduces bacteria levels and reduces streaking on shiny surfaces. Methylated Spirts is highly flammable and should be handled with caution. The flash point is 12.7°C and has a Specific Gravity of 0.81 so this product should not be used near flames or ignition sources. Methylated Spirits is found in a lot of cleaning products where drying times are critical.
